0600 Hrs: Meet at reception and Depart for Nairobi National Park. At the reception, there will be a small briefing on the trip.
0600 Hrs: Morning Game Drives at Nairobi National Park. Welcome to Kenya’s most accessible yet incongruous safari experience. Set on the city’s southern outskirts, Nairobi National Park (at 117 sq km, it’s one of Africa’s smallest) has abundant wildlife which can, in places, be viewed against a backdrop of city skyscrapers and airliners coming in to land – it’s the only national park on earth that borders a capital city.
1000 Hrs: David Sheldrick. At the heart of the DSWT’s conservation activities is the Orphans’ Project, which has achieved world-wide acclaim through its hugely successful elephant and rhino rescue and rehabilitation program.
1400 Hrs: Giraffe Center. The endangered rothschild giraffe breeding programme started with the inception of the Giraffe Centre back then in 1979. The giraffes breed naturally in an approximate 120 Acerage of land and the young calves born at the centre are introduced back into the wild at the age of 2years. Ever since the breeding started, the centre has handled over 50 Rothschild Giraffes and most of them have been introduced back into the wild in selected Kenya’s protected areas.
1600 Hrs: Kazuri Beads. There is something personal about handmade goods. It’s truly something unique and found nowhere else. It is your own. Kazuri takes this emphasis of handmade goods to a whole different level with their continued humanitarian efforts to provide the disadvantaged women of Kenya with a means of bettering themselves, earning a day’s wages, and providing for their families.
